REMEMBER SAFETY FIRST - Any horse that is suffering from colic may be potentially violent. It is always best to get someone to help you when handling a horse suffering from colic. Even the most docile pony can become a time bomb when suffering from the intense pain of colic. Horses can be walking normally one minute and flipping on top of you the next - BE VERY VERY CAFEFUL and if you can't get help at least notify someone that your horse is colicing and you are by yourself.

A dose for a full size horse is the entire 4 oz bottle of ECR - equines weighing under 200 lbs, foals 0-3 months and/or under 200 lbs receive 1/2 dose or 2 oz. Shake Well Before Using. Using the included 60 cc oral syringe administer approximately 1/3 of the bottle at a time. Each time you fill the syringe carefully replace the plunger and gently force the liquid to the top of the syringe and gently shake it before administering. Place the syringe in the corner of the mouth and then slowly push the plunger till the syringe is empty. Once the ECR bottle is empty fill it with a small amount of water, shake and administer it as a last dose to ensure your horse gets all of the ECR. Try not to be in a hurry - it is important to take your time with each dose to assure all of the product goes into your horse's mouth.

Only administer ECR by mouth - Never put it in feed or water which dilutes the potency and limits its ability to work as designed.

You should hear returning bowel sounds in 10-30 minutes on both sides of the horse's abdomen.  If you do not hear bowel sounds consult your veterinarian - surgical intervention may be necessary to save your horse.  Equine Colic Relief is not a miracle.  Horses with twisted, torsion, knotted or ruptured bowels or horses with excessive sand, gravel, stones or tumors in their bowels  are physically beyond the help of ECR and require immediate medical/surgical intervention to save their life.

Equine Colic Relief was developed to work with the biological/physiological defenses and natural resources of a horse's body by working with the horse's body to stop a normal bout of colic.  Conventional Colic Treatments used by veterinarians will interrupt processes in the formula which are needed to stop the bout and will slow down the process. If your horse is colicing and you want to use ECR but also invole your veterinarian make sure they know NOT to use conventinal colic treatments - just administer ECR, watch and let it do it's job.
